Just a heads up. We love hawaii and just returned from Kauai with our youngest 2 kids (20 & 17) We are in our early 50's. It was not our first trip but it was theirs. We stayed at the Marriott in Poipu. The resort was beautiful but we would not return to Kauai. There is not much going on on the island of Kauai. We did kayakand snorkel, but we all felt the island was dead. Two years ago we stayed at the Ko'Olina on Oahu. That was great. Secluded, but close enough to Downtown Honolulu. The kids loved it and so do we. I think you need to think about what you want from a vacation and try the different islands before you buy.
