If you want a better balance between nature and shopping etc. then I sugguest buying a Maui timeshare. You have Lahaina that has a lot going on or try the Road To Hana and pay a visit to the water falls or the black sand beach state park. Maui has the best of both worlds. My kids are younger but they loved it when my sister was married in Maui and we stayed at the Marriott Maui Ocean Club. Turtles could be seen swimming right off the beach. Great location and the pool area was very kid friendly.
