Default Suggestions for San Clemente

We booked our four day trip on our friend's terrific recommendation from last winter. They said the location San Clemente Resort is located in the small seaside hamlet made famous by President Richard Nixon. It is only a few blocks away from the blue Pacific Ocean and most water activities can be enjoyed at Dana Point Harbor which is a short drive away. This place is an ideal place for families, and is also convenient for traveling with kids.

During our stay there last week, we found that part to be true. The problem was that the property is not well cared for any more. For example, our room which was a Breaker studio for four had the murphy bed door detached and leaning against a wall, a kitchen cabinet door detached. I contacted the front desk by phone. No action. The next morning, I filled out a repair request at the front desk. No action. That evening, when we returned from Disney Land to find the water still pouring into the tub, I went back to the front desk, spoke to a manager and got the repairs finally done. I don't think a room should be rented in this condition, much less not repaired when the problems are brought to the attention of the front desk.

The next morning we went out for a picnic to Catalina Island which is southern California’s secret getaway. We had great fun the entire day under the warm, rich sun and blue clear skies of this scenic Pacific Paradise. The island had almost everything for the entire family. We did some shopping, enjoyed sightseeing, fine dining, and much more. As I am afraid of heights and also not that adventurous so I did not go for parasailing which my children liked the most. That was a lifetime experience.

Now its been four day since I have returned from out vacation. We have a collection of about 80 photographs that reminds me of that place. Overall, it was a wonderful vacation. But, I believe no one is spending money anymore on upkeep of heavily used rooms. I think this property needs some renovation and suffers some losses despite great location and design.

Thanks,
David
