| | Was recently considering getting a timeshare
Ok so, I don't know much about all this jazz. I was just talking to a friend recently and she was like 'yeah I went to one of those timeshare meetings once, just to get a free meal.' That's Lacey, gatta love her.
Anyway, it got me to thinkin' I came across some extra cash flow this last year, and I might be interested in buying. Does anyone here have good suggestions? I mean, I found this web site, and it looks really cool. Looks like people I'd like to do business with. Does anyone have any advice to offer to a newbie like me?

| | Timeshare - New Buyer Information
Hi She11y and thank-you for visiting Timeshare Adventures.com and our forum. Timeshare ownership can truly be beneficial for many and we offer some amazing resorts available at some great prices.
It's great that you found Timeshare Adventures, because we can save you or any buyer a lot of money over what they would pay through the resort directly. The timeshare resale market is sincerely the best way to purchase vacation ownership. Timeshare Adventures also has a very large and varied rental inventory, which may allow you to visit a resort prior to buying.
I suggest you peruse our online inventory of timeshare properties. You can search by resort name, resort city, area and cross-reference your search with specific information like number of bedrooms and/or time of year. If you prefer a more personal touch, our staff is eager to speak with you directly to fulfill your vacation ownership or rental needs.

| | Thanks for your help, staff!
You said to call for a personal touch, but this is pretty cool to me, I mean, I have direct contact with someone from the co. to consult me.
Anyway, I am in my 20s, and came accross a lump sum of money last year from an inheritance of a family member, so keep in mind that I know NOTHING about this timeshare jargon and was wondering if you could help me.
I just want to get this straight. If I bought a property through you, it would be like I own part of it with someone else?
Also, if I'm sharing ownership or sharing renting, what if the other person is messy or breaks something at the property. How is this resolved, and how do you know if you can trust the other person involved? Do you get to meet the other people involved?
Please forgive if I ask too many questions. Just new to me and so I'm full of questions.

When browsing timeshares, are you always obligated to sit through a lenghty presentation that tries to convince you to purchase, or can you browse at your leisure to make your own decisions?

| | Answers for She11y regarding Timeshare Ownership
She11y, when you buy a timeshare, whether it be through Timeshare Adventures or from the resort directly it is called fractional ownership. That is, you own a piece of the property which allows usage during a specific time of year. Usually, the piece of property/period of time you own is sold by the week or the owner is awarded a weeks worth points/credits, which can be used to book a vacation. Typically, a resort will have a number of units and if each unit is sold by the week, each unit can be sold 52 times(once for each week of the year).
Sometimes the resort will issue a specific week number and a specific unit number. Other times they will issue a "floating week" and a "floating unit", which can be booked any week of the year, based on availability.
Most timeshare properties are at full-service resorts and the properties and the units are maintained by the staff at the resort. Like any full-service resort, a credit card is used to secure incidentals and expenses that may be incurred during the visitors stay. So, damages are ultimately the responsibility of the person occupying the unit when damages occur. Timeshare Adventures has made this forum available for questions and thoughts such as yours, so we are happy to provide you with answers and advice.

| | OK, so I couldn't leave my stuff there?
When we used to vacation in Florida for summer, equipted with multi bedrooms, full sized kitchen, balcony on the beach and all the comforts of home. we'd rent a condo for the week. I remember seeing a locked closet and learned that a family would go stay in that same location often and so they had their own closet with their stuff.
It would really make sense to do this so that I'm not toting things all around every time. If I get a "floating" room, that really puts more burden on me while packing. And if I don't get a "floating" week, well then, what if schedule conflicts come up at the last minute?
I'm sorry if I ask too many difficult questions, I just wnat to make an informed decision. Maybe there's a web site where I could go research and learn more. Can anyone answer these questions and suggest a new location to search? |

Hi everyone,
OK, I'm new here and just have been checking everything out. My sister is trying to buy a timeshare in Mexico right now, which got me thinking about the idea myself. She11y, yeah, I'm kind of weirded out too by the idea of sharing a home with other people I don't know, having my stuff there, etc. However, I am a lot more scared of the high price of vacation real estate! Any thoughts on this?
