I was looking at some timeshares for sale at Old Key West in Disney....I don't understand what the points are for? Is this extra perks for Walt Disney World? Thanks!

Disney Vacation Club is a point-based vacation ownership. Each owner is awarded a certain number of points per year, which can be redeemed at any Disney property(or even their cruise-line) for vacation time. The owner is assigned a "home-base" resort, but the owner can use the points at any Disney resort property based on availability. The number of points required to book time at a specific property depends on the time of year and the size of the unit requested.
