Question Golf Destination Club?

Has anyone heard of the Markers Club. They are apparently a high end golf destination club, but I am looking for anyone who might have experience with them before I think to seriously about dealing with them. They are a bit pricey but I figured this would be a good place to look for someone that might have dealt with them. Any info you might have on them would be great.

I am also curious as to what the difference between a destination club and a timeshare is. Does anyone have a good answer for this one?

Thanks

Default Difference Between Timeshare & Destination Clubs

Hello GeauxSaints,

I have heard of The Markers Golfers Residence Club. As for first hand experience, I will leave that up to and invite our forum participants and visitors to express themselves and share their personal experiences with The Markers.

By definition, as published on our website, a Timeshare is ownership of a vacation property for a specific period of time, usually a week on an annual basis. The owner does not bear the cost of owning a property year round, essentially paying only for the time used. The owner may use the home resort timeshare every year or trade with numerous affiliated resorts worldwide.

Destination Clubs, as defined at Wikipedia were "invented" in 1998, when Rob McGrath, a veteran of the luxury timeshare development business, launched Private Retreats. Since then over 20 companies have launched clubs (and more are being launched every month) targeting affluent families that want the benefits of second home ownership, but with more flexibility and choice. These clubs tend to have the same basic structure: in exchange for a one-time upfront membership fee, and annual membership dues, a member gets access to a roster of luxury vacation homes around the world, which can be booked based on availability and reservation priorities.

Thank you for visiting Timeshare Adventures and participating in our forum.

Default The Markers - Golfers Residence Club

The Markers is the world’s first destination club focused on the great game of golf.Unlike other private destination clubs that offer golf as one of their amenities, The Markers is a club for golfers, their friends and families.Players, coaches and trainers will show you, among other things, how to lengthen your drive, refine your short game, read a green and play from the rough.
