Default Do "LOW BUDGET" timeshares exist?

Hi,

I would consider myself more of an "adventure traveller" than a five-star hotel kind of gal, and I like to travel off the beaten path. I like to travel to places where I can either observe nature in a simple setting, or live among the local population, not in a ritzy resort. I like to hike, go on canopy walks, climb mountains and hang with the locals, and trek through the savannah looking for zebras - not sit around primping myself on a beach with a drink in my hand (no offense to those who do - I can understand the charms of that kind of vacation, even if I don't share an interest for it!). Nevertheless, I am looking into the timeshare option after my sister started the process of getting one in Mexico. I mean it seems like such a brilliant idea - only caveat is that most of the properties are not only out of my budget, but it's just not really my lifestyle. Are there timeshares out there for my kind of budget and personality? I mean I see hotels like this all the time, so why not timeshare options?

Any info would be appreciated!

Lightbulb Low budget

What you might want to consider is Renting before you buy. You gain a first hand experience without a long term commitment. Visit a few then make your decision to buy, OR, keep renting.

Default Inexpensive Timeshare Ownership

I'm sure there is a timeshare ownership out there to fit your lifestyle and budget. The resale market has some amazing deals and, as suggested by sunseeker, renting a unit first would give you an opportunity to "test drive" the ownership.

Sunseeker and tsa staff -

Thanks so much for the advice. Yes, the more I think about it, the more renting seems like the best option for now. That way also, I will get a chance to develop a relationship with a few places and see what fits my lifestyle best.
