| | Selling My Timeshare - Looking For Results!
I've been trying to sell my timeshare for a couple years and so far NO ONE has been able to help. I've tried to do it myself, with marketing companies, ebay, and even a Realtor and and a timeshare broker. None of these have worked! What's the deal here? I notice some differences at this website, but to tell the truth, I have to wonder if I once again will be wasting my money. I'm willing to pay for advertising/service if convinced Timeshare Adventures can bring me something for my money....renting out my timeshare....selling it, or whatever.
I think the website and the listings are well done, attractive, and after reading the "WHY WE ARE DIFFERENT" section it makes sense to me that if I were a buyer I would like the no closing costs and no commission aspect. I wouldn't mind hearing from tsa_staff about how successful Timeshare Adventures is and the ways you differ from the other companies, but I wish some successful sellers or renters would tell me about their experience with Timeshare Adventures. Yes, I have read the "Testimonials" and I don't doubt their legitimacy, but to actually get it from the horses mouth would give me much more confidence. The thing is that I don't see a reason for those who have sold to return to this website and especially return and visit the forum and find my post. But, I'm asking anyway.....someone help and give me the push I need to give this timeshare resale thing another shot.

| | Sold One Timeshare .... Trying to Rent Or Sell Another
Hello, I listed two 154,000 Fairfield aka Wyndham timeshares with Timeshare Adventures and I have been able to get one sold and I am awaiting another reasonable offer for the other. Both timeshares were deeded at Daytona Beach, one odd-year, one even-year, both 154,000 points, so basically identical timeshares. The first sold within a couple months and we're going on 4 months for the second. The timeshare is unpredictable and I know this, but since this company was successful in brining me a buyer for one, I have to believe they will do the same with the second. The first was a very smooth transaction from start to finish and I offered a very good price, so I would advise the same to any potential seller.

| | Sold My Manhattan Club Timeshare Here
twistedtaste,
I used Timeshare Adventures to sell my Manhattan Club timeshare, so for me and the timeshare I owned this company worked. I too had been with another company that had telemarketed me, promised fast results("buyers waiting and ready") and they told me to price my timeshare way too high(compared to what I actually got for it here) and I never heard from them again. The people here presented me with a logical reasons why this telemarketing company was useless and how their program worked, so I nervously gave it another shot. Fortunately, it worked! I made no profit from the sale of the timeshare, but I did get what I paid for it. I bought the Manhattan Club timeshare from a relative, so I'm pretty sure I got a good price, so I asked for slightly more than what I paid and mentioned in my ad that I would be willing to negotiate. I now know that the Manhattan Club is a very popular timeshare, so this definitely helped, but in my opinion the realistic advice I got from the people at Timeshare Adventures also contributed to me being able to sell. This all happened about a year and a half ago, and there have been some changes to their website since I employed their service(the lists tsa_staff has in his/her post were not here then) and this would have helped win me over if they had these lists of sales and offers(maybe I just missed them or wasn't told about them).
That's my story....good luck!

| | Using Timeshare Adventures To Sell and Rent
I have a sales background and after speaking with Timeshare Adventures, the concept makes sense. The sales rep i spoke with about selling my timeshare explained everything thoroughly and suggested I try to rent-out the timeshare through their program while they market the timeshare to be sold. She said it would be a good way to promote the timeshare to be sold. Makes sense. So far it's been only a couple of weeks, so I'm pretty new to their client list, but they seem to offer more than anyone else at a good price, so I recommend them at this point. I will keep you all posted!

| | Sell Or Rent Timeshare A Futile Effort?
I have spent over a thousand dollars over the past few years trying to sell my Silverleaf timeshare and have never received even one offer and I have been thru 3 or 4 companies, but not this one. One was referred from a salesman at the Silverleaf timeshare resort we purchased at, 2 others telemarket me and the most recent timeshare company sent me a mailer.
All were similar in what they offer and one, maybe two, I think even claimed to have some kind of "open house", which I've learned since is a lie/scam. The telemarketing company's salespeople were "fast-talkers" just like the salesmen at the timeshare itself. They promised/guaranteed a sale and promised my money-back if the timeshare was not sold within a certain time frame or if someone else sold it within 10%-20% of my original asking price. Problem is, they over priced me to begin with and I was never able to re-establish contact with the one who guaranteed a sale within 90 days(If I remember correctly).
I just want honesty regarding what my timeshare is worth or what it will actually sell for. Timeshare Adventures or at lease what I have read by exploring their website seems legitimate(attorney on staff, etc.), but I can't help but be extremely skeptical. I am willing to price my Silverleaf timeshare very well and I've been told that Silverleaf is a popular timeshare group, so if this marketing, advertising, no closing cost and supposedly ethical company can produce and get the job done I will give them my business. But, I too want to hear some stories of timeshare(hopefully Silverleaf) resale success.
Nervous, desperate and READY to sell!

| | Response to "selling my timeshare-looking for results"
Hello! I am also a frustrated person that wants to sell a time share and has had some interesting experiences. I have used two companies that have both required up front cash (and one an additional quarterly fee) and done absolutely nothing. I am very sceptical about anything to do with timeshare companies at this point as I have experienced nothing but lies and false advertising.
I think the only way to ensure that you don't get ripped off is to only give payment once the timeshare is sold (the same way as it is done with most real estate) i.e. pay them a percentage of the selling cost. Anyone that is seriously attempting to sell your timeshare shouldn't object to this. I find it suspicious if someone wants money up front without guaranteeing results, especially since the advertising they do isn't particular to your timeshare (it is for a huge list of timeshares).
The other thing is to realize that your time share is worth much less than you paid for it, and make sure you are advertising the right price. A last resort is to donate your timeshare to charity and at least get some kind of tax rightoff. Good luck!!!

| | Commission Based Timeshare Resale Is Not Effective
Hello Sophy,
We corresponded via email regarding this very topic and according to your reply, I think you have an understanding as to why commission or point-of-sale fees don't work with timeshare resale.
Many people want to compare timeshare to traditional real estate and they are completely different in every way except for the fact that both are deeded. The way timeshare is sold, used, and the resale of timeshare versus the resale of traditional real estate is different as well. The timeshare buying or renting audience is global and the traditional real estate audience is typically local. The difference in price between timeshare and traditional real estate is significant and therefore the potential commissions earned if Realtors sold timeshare would be minuscule when compared to traditional real estate unless the Realtor demands an absurd commission rate when selling timeshare. The thing is that Realtors are licensed local to their area and usually not where the timeshare is deeded and marketing local properties is very inexpensive or free. A 'For Sale' sign, an 'Open House', the MLS and word-of-mouth advertising is usually sufficient for a Realtor to move local properties, but these tools are unavailable or ineffective with timeshare. So, in order to reach the timeshare buying or renting audience it comes down to advertising. Timeshare Adventures spends a great deal of money advertising and marketing in order to bring buyer, seller and renter together. The Advertising Partners & Marketing Network we utilize is unique, diverse and very effective. We advise our selling and renting clientele to price their timeshare ownerships well and we make the process simple by providing targeted advertising, a state-of-the-art website to feature our clients' timeshares, an experienced and highly trained staff to screen our clients calls and an independent real estate attorney to perform the closings on our PLATINUM AD LISTINGS at NO COST to either buyer or seller once they have agreed to terms.
