Default Sell Timeshare - what to expect?

Okay... I'v been searching the web for few hours. Looking at various websites on. (now I'm completely pissed)

Okay frustrated is more like it. I don't have the answers I wanted. Would assume the people (sales people) I would talk to on the phone WOULD tell me what I wanted to hear -- so I didn't try to talk to anyone.

BUT your site looked / seems like fair place. IMO, you do come across as legit --- no too big, not to small. (funny... the lady on the left "Sell Your Timeshare"... HEY.. I got to believe her )

back to my question:
how long will it take to sell my Vail Colorado. Its at Eagle Point -- a 2 bed, 2 bath.

I know it depends on my price, people wanting it/looking for a vail timeshare, etc.

BUT say 1000 people are looking at a vail timeshare in 1 month. What's the odds that someone will want mine?

I guess what I'm asking is WHAT kind of demand is out there for timeshares? I think Vail is a good place, etc. Right?

And... say a few people are interested in my timeshare.... is it general to have tire kickers? or are poeple serious. You say you handle the closing process -- that should help close the deal... Right?

anyway... so in general, what type of luck to people have when selling a timeshare.
Again, I know it depends, but take out the negative things like week, location, price ---- what are the odds that someone interested will actually follow through with it?

In general what can I expect when trying to sell my vail timeshare?
and specfically... if you don't mind... care to tell me what I could expect if listing my timeshare with you?

Default Vail is a high destination for vacations....

Hi Parker,

There is a great market for vacation properties in Vail, there are a few different factors that come into play when selling your timeshare.

1. Location - Owning a timeshare in a high destination area, some locations have a quicker selling time-frame (more popular) than properties in obscure locations. The average sell time for a vacation property is 6 months, give or take a few.

2. Pricing - Obviously you cannot compete with the resort, buyers that shop the resale market are looking to save 20%-30% minimum from what the resort is selling them for. The lower the price, the more appealing it will be to potential buyers...this will directly reflect how many offers you receive on your timeshare.

3. Exposure - The company you list with has to have an outstanding marketing program using the most strategic techniques that are available for this industry. We do around 80% of our business directly over the internet these days, in 2005 we spent over $300k with Google alone, not mention Yahoo, Aol, Msn, Ask Jeeves and all the other search engines. To cover all aspects for this industry we also have a television commercial that Warner Brothers produced for us and use traditional advertising as well (direct mailing, news papers & travel agencies).

4. Program - Find a company that offers a great program giving the buyers incentive to shop. We are the only vacation property reseller in this industry that offers a no closing cost program, this makes the buyers decision must easier on where to purchase a timeshare from. All of our competitors charge an additional $400-$600 at the end of the sale to the buyers for closing costs, we get them where it counts...in the wallet. Our program makes your property look more attractive!

Thumbs up Eagle Point timeshare in Vail, Colorado

We really like ours. The timeshare we have at the Eagle Point in Vail is only a one bedroom, but it just my girlfriend and I that use it every ski season. They have shuttle service to the slopes, excellent guests services and the timeshare is smoke-free! As former smokers, many times worse than those who have never smoked, we really enjoy this aspect, but the skiing is our primary reason for visiting. Just my 2 cents!

Bye,

JP Tyson
