Hello Everyone! I have posted here a few times in the past and received some good answers to my questions, so I'm back. Anyway, my wife and I have been Fairfield owners for a few years and used the ownership a couple times at different Fairfield locations, but things have changed and it looks like we will be selling the ownership. Now, I have bought and sold a home, but with timeshare...how does everything work? I have used this years points and my next allotment of points will not come until next year(2008). Do I have to wait until then to sell so the buyer can use the ownership immediately?

I've been doing some shopping around, seems everyone is going to have an up-front fee of some sort to sell a vacation property. Everyone is telling me "don't worry about the closing costs, they are taken care of by the buyer", then I noticed the platinum listing with you advertises directly to the buyer "no closing cost". Why would I be concerned about the buyer paying these fees...I've paid them when I purchased timeshares in the past. I appreciate any insight or clarification you can provide me with this subject. Anyone having any luck selling Westgate timeshares? I have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath in Kissimmee and it is assigned to week number 14 every year. We make monthly payments, but have never used it in 3 years. I called Westgate to offer it back to them and they pointed me here. Just trying to find out about the process, thanks.

I dont know much about Westgate but I do know you need a very reasonable price to sell on the timeshare resale market. Check the web for prices. Good luck!

Agreed. I bought a Westgate Lakes timeshare about five years ago and I wish I knew about buying from the resale market before I signed at the resort. This place is slammed busy every time we go so I would think there's got to be some kind of demand for reselling it.

Price the Westgate timeshare well and you should find a buyer as long as you advertise properly. I don't think many realtors sell timeshare, but there are reselling companies like this that have services to help.

I don't have a Westgate timeshare, but my resort is also packed and popular. My husband sells real estate in Ashville, NC and works for a nationally recognized real estate firm. He has been in contact with his company's office in Central Florida and they directed him to the internet in search of a resale company. The trouble is they all demand some kind of listing or advertising fee! So, we're stuck in this 'circle of confusion' and really don't know what to do...
