It figures, if you read one of my older posts... I sold my Marriott in Hawaii to my sister a couple of years ago (she lives on the West coast, I'm on the East). I wish this resort was around back then, I could have traded directly with Marriott to use at this new location! O-well, new resort looks really nice...

I am dying to go here. Has anyone stayed at Marriott's Frenchman's Cove or Bluebeards Castle? My friend lives there and I know it's beautifull. Economical tips on flying there would be interesting, too.

Yes CaMama: My wife and I have been recently[past summer] to the Marriott's Frenchman's Cove and there were more positives than negatives. Here is my advice and opinion of a few things we experienced. Marriott timeshare is the best, so no complaints about the Marriott staff, timeshare units, or the resorts undeniable beauty. View was quite nice of the harbor and food quality at the resort was good.

We rented a car to excursion on the island and shop, dine-out, and seek entertainment. If you are able I advise trying to avoid the cruise ship days because the traffic is terrible. We left Early to avoid this[7:AM. And just so you know - the island is closed on Sundays - no shopping[upset my wife more than me].

Great snorkeling, clear water, nice clean, but small beaches. Loved the trip! Loved the Marriott's Frenchman's Cove.

Thanks Hornblower...there is something to be said for hearing about a place from a real traveler. I especially appreciate being directed away from the touristy activities. I think island hopping (on smaller boats)would be my idea of fun.
